Day 2 in the City

We hadn't originally planned on going to the city for a second day.  The Statue of Liberty took so long, so we went a second day to strictly go to the Empire State Building, Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, and Carmines for some calimari.

After the Empire State Building we got on the PATH train that went to Hoboken, New Jersey.  Loren really wanted to visit the home of the Cake Boss and we all thought it would be fun.  We easily found the bakery and got in line.  We didn't realize that the line continued across the street and we were actually hopping in the middle of the line.  When we did realize it Linda and Loren went to the end of the line and we waited an hour to enter the bakery.  Once in the bakery it was a mad house.  We got our cookies, cakes and canolis and heading back to New York City.

Once back in New York City we headed back to Times Square and went to Carmine's.  I'm not sure how the Olsen's found this place, but they were right the Calimari was awesome!  By this time it was getting later and it had started raining so we headed back to Penn Station to hop a train back to Ronkonkoma.  When we got to the train station we found out that the storm had blown several trees onto the tracks.  I think it was fourteen.  They said it would be a few hours before it would be cleaned up.  Gregg got on the phone and was able to get ahold of Uncle Frank.  Uncle Frank said he would pick Gregg up in a different city and drive him to the car.  Then Gregg could get the car, with the car seat in it, and come pick us up.  While on the train Loren suggest that Linda, Loren, Jason, Kaden, and I get off in Smithtown and walk to the Hunsucker's house.  Then Gregg would get off at the next town and meet Frank to get the car and come get us.  So that's what we did.  We ended up getting back to the house a bit later than we thought we would.  The Italians had made us a very good pasta dinner and then we went to bed.
